Mustang Billboards

12 Feb 2007

This post is for a colleague of mine who totally loves Mustangs. I saw these billboards and I just had to think of him. I love the simplicity of the concept. There’s still so much you can do with transparent billboards, and this is another shiny example of how much dynamics and story you can put in them with just a seemingly empty space and a logo from the right brand. This is how your world would look like if you drove a Mustang. All blurry from the horsepower speed under your bottom. All you can think of when you see these is: weeeeeeeh!

Sleep Tight Tonight

12 Feb 2007

Another goodie for the blokes: Ché, the leading “men’s magazine” in Flanders, has released a special edition down slip/cover a little while ago, to bring the hottie to the nerds amongst us. The time of lonely evenings is behind you and you’ll no longer suffer from coldbeddiness with this item because you’ll probably never want to get up again. It’s probably a good time to start webcamming from your bedroom and fake you actually have a social life that includes spicy women. That said, here’s the cover:

Men Only

11 Feb 2007

I love the little twist in this campaign. Besides the fact that it’s totally disarming to see a woman in tears and that it really makes every man feel tender and filled with compassion at the same time, it’s pretty weird to see how powerful a snapshot can be. This photoshoot was done for Piero Milano’s ‘men only’ jewel collection. The sad news for women is that they won’t get any of the good stuff this time, which is why they are crying. A fresh approach, nice visuals and the jewels don’t look bad either.

Living Billboard

11 Feb 2007

Here’s a stunning billboard for the Austrian Red Cross. The installation features a ‘beating’ blood bag that also makes a pumping noise. It might seem a bit weird at first, but it’s surely an eyecathing project. The copy on the bag -’give life’- is strengthened by the animation of the billboard. Giving blood saves lives, so it’s a matter of passing on the heartbeat to those who need it. I think it’s a good idea to use an audiovisual approach, and it sticks. The brief of this campaign was ‘to wrench people in the vicinity of the blood donation centers out of their apathy and actively encourage them to donate blood’.

Back In Belgium

11 Feb 2007

Heya :) I’ve been away for a little longer than a week to Seattle for a Microsoft event. Just got back yesterday and slept off my jetlag. If you want to read more about the trip, check out my other blog. Enough for the chatting, let’s start to blog again.
