World Water Day Guerrilla (2)

23 Mar 2006

More World Water Day guerrilla, this time for Intermon Oxfam which placed giant straws in the the manholes of Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza with the message: “Would you drink from this water? Thousand of people don’t have any other choice”. Quite a strong statement.

Adidas Consumer Generated Billboards

23 Mar 2006

Here’s something cool I just saw somewhere else :) – The new campaign that adidas launched recently in Germany for adicolor is an absolutely stunning piece of street interaction. I love the concept and whoever came up with this should be promoted. Check out the Adicolor interactive billboards for the Overkill Shop:

Adidas Blank

First, adidas put up a series of mostly white flyerposters – branded with the adidas logo – that subtley encouraged people to tag the billboard and basically fuck it up.

But then, days later, they came back to those same ads and placed another poster over it. The new poster features the adidas adicolor show, now with the original tags from the previous poster incorporated into the show design.

WWF Street Marketing

22 Mar 2006

Check out these painted trees by Indiana RMG David de Mumbai. Naturally the trees were painted with non-toxic inks and de patterns represent skins of animails that are in high risk of extinguishing. Very well done for WWF.

Puma Football Career Builder

22 Mar 2006

Puma has a funny viral up where all you have to do is type in your name. You’ll get a cheering crowd for you, and pressing the ‘your career’ will take you through your own personal hall of fame. Of course the site also has links to Puma footwear, Puma apparel & Puma teams. There’s also a very funny ‘Leon’ clip which is worth watching.

BBC Starts MusiCubes

21 Mar 2006

BBC Radio One’s Musicube campaign kicked off. In this campaign they let you compose your personal music tower by selecting slices of music genres (each 10%) and pile them up until you reach a 100% tower. Adding a Musicube tower to your personal webspace is very easy. You can also send it to your mates, to show them the music you’re into. And of course you can listen to the music and shows you want directly from your tower.

It only takes a couple of minutes to create your own Musicube tower and it couldn’t be easier to add it to your webspace.
Spread the word! Meanwhile: here’s how that music cube looks like:

Want one of your own? Go get it now !

Against Everyday Racism

21 Mar 2006

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is marked every year on 21 March with activities led by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, New York and at the field-presences. This year’s theme is Fighting Everyday Racism.

“We must combat all forms of intolerance by celebrating the diversity and the differences that enrich the human family. But we must work to reduce the differences that are imposed, rather than chosen, that speak of deprivation rather than fulfilment and that fuel the xenophobic discourse about the relative merit and desert of individuals based on stereotypical attributes attached to their race, religion or ethnicity.”
Louise Arbour
United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

Supercool ad, too bad it’s in Hebrew (or something). The transitions are amazing, the effects impressive. The commercial is for some sort of chocolate cookie. A must see !

K-Fee Turbodrink Viral Clips

21 Mar 2006

Promo talk: the K-fee turbodrink is freshly brewed roasted coffee with whole milk that you can enjoy easily and everywhere. A ready mix with a great taste and a strong effect – because one can of K-fee turbodrink contains twice as much natural caffeine, but only half the calories of typical energy drinks.

This dink is supposed to wake you up, get you going etc. The fact this drink exists isn’t remarkable at all. What is worth mentioning is that the clips they use to promote this beverage are spreading very fast over the internet. The clips are not for sensitive viewers. The tagline: “So wach warst du doch nie” means “you’ve never been so awake” weren’t so awake at all. The most famous one is definitely clip number 5, with the car driving through the countryside. It was the first commercial I saw with this ‘meme’, and it’s been around for a few months already. Many use it to fool their friends (read the description of the clip)
