Underwear Goes Inside The Pants

18 Sep 2006

A little while ago I was reading on Bert Van Wassenhove’s blog and he pointed to this very amusing song on a MySpace page dedicated to Lazy Boy’s track. The lyrics are hilarious. You used to be able to download the song, but apparently that’s not possible anymore. I’m pretty sure you can still find it on some file-sharing network if you look for it. You can still listen to it. I’ve posted the lyrics after the jump. Have a nice Monday :) And by the way: Happy birthday, Bert. Here’s some linklove :)

Formula 1 Shrubery

30 Aug 2006

Back in April I posted this picture of a Volkswagen Beetle in someone’s backyard, totally assembled and trimmed out of greenery. Well, here’s something even more impressive:

Formula 1 Hedge

I wonder how many times a month this needs to be adjusted.

Bloody Heinz

17 Aug 2006

This is an example of consumer generated content, it is by no means endorsed or approved by Heinz and I don’t think they’ll like it very much that it’s out in the open, but since it’s been circulating quite a bit, I thought I’d blog it here to share it with the rest of the admosphere. I’m not quite sure what to think of it. It’s not shocking but the least you could say is that it makes you frown just a little bit. As a direct consequence of the frowning, you might question the mental health of the creator of the faux ad, whose identity remains unknown. Freaky. It reminds me of a famous line Barney Gumble once said in The Simpsons: “Just plug it into my vain”. My apologies for the low quality if the image, but like I’ve said: it’s been going around very much and that leaves its scars.

Bloody Heinz

Thanks, Ben.

Kama Sutra

24 Jul 2006

Books are hot. I often go into a book store to go indulge myself in that ‘new book smell’. Man, that’s so addictive. This summer I’ll be reading some nice marketing books and I’ll post the reviews here as soon as I’m done with them. Did you know you can actually have fun reading with your girlfriend/boyfriend? It can be quite erotic as well. Here’s how that works:

Mac vs PC (final)

15 Jul 2006

The guys from Gizmodo have made a really funny compilation of their take on the ‘Mac vs. PC’ ads that Apple launched. This time it’s the Macs that get ridiculed. Finally. Click the images to go see the clips.

Another older but not less funnier ad is this one: “Crash Different”:

Blogger Code

14 Jul 2006

Here’s a funny way to generate a personal blogger’s code: answer the baker’s dozen questions on this site. Select the answer in each category that best describes you. The code will only be as accurate as you are truthful. (Skip the question to leave any quotient out of your code). The code calculates the following things:

  1. Blogging Quotient
  2. Domain Quotient
  3. Technical Quotient
  4. Linkslut Quotient
  5. Stats Quotient
  6. Usual Suspects Quotient
  7. Frequency Quotient
  8. Immediacy Quotient
  9. Originality Quotient
  10. Sex Quotient
  11. Exhibitionism Quotient
  12. Lemming Quotient
  13. Closet Quotient

My code:

My blogger code: B6 d++ t++ k+ s+ u- f+ i+ o e+ l- c– (decode it!)

Why this code generator?
Geeks have one. So do hairy gay men and their admirers. Isn’t it time bloggers have a code to describe themselves as well?

Jackson Pollock Modern Art

14 Jul 2006

The time where Modern Art is ‘trop cher’ for the common folks like you and me is far behind us. With this generator for Jackson Pollock look-alike art by Miltos Manetas, you can design your very own masterwork and if you press ‘print screen’ in time and paste the screen in Photoshop, you can easily have it optimized and printed to frame it and decorate your living room to create that super-modern loungy feeling. Cool.

Pollock DIY

“Who is Jackson Pollock?”

Jackson Pollock created so-called ‘drip paintings’. A very cool and surreal way to display feelings and emotions. He began painting with his (often very large) canvases on the floor, and developed what was called his “drip” (or his preferred term, “pour”) technique. He used his brushes as implements for dripping paint, and the brush never touched the canvas. Pollock’s technique of pouring and dripping paint is thought to be one of the origins of the term Action Painting.

My painting does not come from the easel. I hardly ever stretch the canvas before painting. I prefer to tack the unstretched canvas to the hard wall or the floor. I need the resistance of a hard surface. On the floor I am more at ease. I feel nearer, more part of the painting, since this way I can walk around it, work from the four sides and literally be in the painting.
I continue to get further away from the usual painter’s tools such as easel, palette, brushes, etc. I prefer sticks, trowels, knives and dripping fluid paint or a heavy impasto with sand, broken glass or other foreign matter added.
When I am in my painting, I’m not aware of what I’m doing. It is only after a sort of ‘get acquainted’ period that I see what I have been about. I have no fear of making changes, destroying the image, etc., because the painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through. It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess. Otherwise there is pure harmony, an easy give and take, and the painting comes out well.
