Adidas Quiz On Google Earth

21 Jan 2006

The Sputnik Agency down under developed a keen football quiz or Adidas Australia, using Google Earth. Via the +10 playoffs you can download a .kmz file that opens up the Google Earth interface.

Once you have downloaded Google Earth (if you didn’t have it already) you can participate in this game. Grand prize is the 2006 Adidas World Cup Matchball, signed by Harry Kewell. Questions are illustrated by the countries Google Earth points to.

A cool flash animation under the globe/map shows your progress in the quiz.

When you answer a question right, you move on to the next one. If your answer is wrong, you’re taken a step back and you need to answer an extra question about the player you just discovered. It’s possible you go back to 0 and have to start all over.

The first three answers to get you on your way :

1. Ballack
2. Kaka
3. Beckham

Crazy Frog Football Game

06 Jan 2006

No, I don’t like the song and yes I hate this little animal too and even more yes: people who have this tune for a ringtone should be punished. But you can’t deny it’s a great example of marketing and it made millions and millions of euros profit. So here’s a game to annoy your co-workers with the worst ringtone ever. If you can stand it, try to start up the game and let the intro run when you go out for a snack :) Your colleagues will be pleased. I gave up after forty seconds. It drove me nuts. Good luck.

From the press release :

"With the incredible success of the Crazy Frog, probably the most successful ringtone ever sold, it’s hardly surprising there have been numerous additions to the brand. He started out as a simple animation on TV with a catchy ringtone, and gradually moved forward selling real tones, wallpapers, animations, video clips, toys and more!

Now, to add to the brilliantly-marketed brand, is Crazy Frog Football. The game, unsurprisingly, allows you to play football with the Crazy Frog through simple movement of the mouse – the main objective being to keep the ball in the air.

It combines sound effects and animation and overall makes for an entertaining game, especially if you’re looking for something to keep you busy in the office! After playing for a few minutes, chances are you’ll drop the ball, at which point a funny animation will be played which changes depending on your score. The most common being the Crazy Frog being blown up, but isn’t that what we all want?"

Turnaround Game : BigNoizz Record Company

06 Jan 2006

The Turnaround Game is created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to help you understand what it means to run a record company and why downloading MP3’s for free isn’t doing any good to the company’s business statistics.

Big Noizz Music is ailing: share prices are down, tension is high and all the hits have but dried up. You’re the superstar consultant Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who’s job it is to turn this company around. To do so, you’ll help the CEO make decisions on all facets of the business from distribution to talent to technology. It’s going to take all your CPA skills including strategic and critical thinking, decision making, risk analysis, measurement and vision to push Big Noizz back to the top. The business problems that Big Noizz is facing include:

Level 1: It’s up to you to make a cash raising recommendation without ticking off the stockholders or the fans. This means taking a good look at Big Noizz’s distribution, assets, audience, and potential.

Level 2: Big Noizz needs you to help them reinvest their money and leverage their expertise with a plan that can generate more profits. What can you and they do with a roster of aging stars with dwindling popularity and some cash flow?

Level 3: Big Noizz is counting on you to help them secure their future. Your challenge is to tilt the fragile balance between art, commerce and technology in their favor. The reward for your strong leadership will be generous.

The game is quite monotone, but then again, it’s accounting-oriented. What did you expect? The graphics are pretty good though, and the characters are very realistic. Feels like pre-recorded video material when you meet them and that’s pretty impressive.

BigNoizz

Go Play the game (register for free) – It asks for an area code, and it doesn’t accept European codes so I filled in ‘90210′ and that seemed to work fine. Thank you, television. :)

"Start Here. Go Places." also has a few other games to get you more in touch with business and accounting:

* BizzFun : Choose your industry — entertainment, sports or fashion — then try to maneuver your way to the top of your company and the top of our scoreboard. You can even set up a league and compete with your friends to see who comes out on top.

* Money Means Business : Do you dream of a challenging career in the corporate world — see yourself working with the top executives, thriving on deadlines, making important decisions, launching new products?
If this sounds exciting, you’ve come to the right place!

* Catch Me If You Can : Features three exciting cases to unravel. Your job? Look for clues, follow the money trail and catch the bad guys. Don’t wait – log on and get sleuthing. When it comes to fighting crime, every second counts.

The Streaker

22 Dec 2005

Britain is known for its streakers, and so it’s only logical someone came up with a viral about it. T-Mobile did this very well in a three-level game for the monthly competition ‘The Ultimate Box Experience’. Lovely humoristic commenter’s remarks like "these women really have no shame, and I for one applaud that" and many others that make you laugh. Yeah, this must be the best side of football in the UK.

When you succeed the three levels, you’re offered to enter your email and some of your friends’, so T-Mobile can send them the game and they can participate. T-Mobile also announces more games & prizes for the 2006 Fifa World Cup Germany, so stay tuned.

Christmas Brats

22 Dec 2005

It’s not even Christmas yet, but some moron (at T-Viral) decided to put the presents under the tree. A bad mistake, resulting in a pretty funny viral game.

"All of the brats have come out of the woodwork and are looking to pilfer their presents from under the tree. It’s your job to stop them, and thankfully you have a number of mutant toys and other traps to help you. Can you stop the brats from celebrating Christmas early?"

Optus Tennis Game

10 Nov 2005

Optus is an employer of more than 9,000 people throughout Australia. They ‘re in the telecom business (recently also into digital TV) and have a clear, single-minded focus on delivering a superior customer experience. Sponsorship is an essential part of their marketing communications and reflects their commitment to ‘giving back’ to the communities and people who support them.

Besides the tennis game I posted here, another remarkable thing they’ve done recently is their ‘Make A Scene Competition‘ in which they co-worked with Bell Shakespeare. They’ve invite children and teenagers between 5-18 years, to take a Shakespearean phrase or saying and visually represent it in a modern way.The competition is closed, but you can browse the 2005 Gallery and check out the winning entries of 2004.
