Seattle On Ice

01 Apr 2007

To promote the new Cold Coffee for McDonalds, frozen chunks of ice were spread around town with blue coffee tumblers and a card reading “The Cold Is Coming” embedded in the middle. A little while ago, a Flemish radio station had a giant cube of ice dropped off on a very popular shopping street in Antwerp. Inside the cube was a large bar of gold (fake, obviously). The listeners could then call in and bet on the time the ice would be gone and the bar would hit the ground and the winner got a prize. I like the idea McDo did here, but there’s so much more you could do with this concept than just drop the blocks in the street.
