Memory Enhancer

05 Mar 2007

This cute little eye-catcher drives around somewhere in Singapore apparently. This reminds me of some candid camera show where the host came out of the supermarket, put the baby carrier (with a doll in it) on his roof and left the parking lot. He was nearly lynched by mothers as they made the car stop after having ran behind the car screaming and waiving their arms. On the one hand I think it’s an attention grabber, but on the other hand, this is so wrong. I bet the advertising isn’t the first thing mothers look at as the car drives by, and it’s good enough to give someone a heart attack. The drugs they advertize for are memory enhancers. They probably should’ve chosen cardiac pills or something.

Thanks, Ben

That is such an exploitation of our instinct to protect the young, it would almost make me mad for being hoodwinked — except that it’s such a creative way to solve an ad problem that it wins me over.
