Contest

05 Mar 2007

Saturday the 3rd of March, there was a bloggers event in Leuven. I was there, and so where about 40 other bloggers. The evening went quite well and yet again there were some really interesting conversations with really interesting people. I had some other things to do afterwards, so unfortunately I had to leave a little early. But the food was great, the people too and well yeah, the sponsoring company did their very best. Which brings me to the title of this blogpost.

Nuance gave every blogger a demonstration copy (not for resale, but apparently full version) of their ‘Dragon Naturally Speaking’ voice recognition software. We didn’t had to blog about it, but obviously that would be nice. They gave a demo on-the-spot and it seemed to work pretty well.

But, since the product isn’t Vista compatible, I decided to give my version away here on this blog. First I thought: a contest, that needs a lot of prizes. Yeah, dozens of prizes. But since I only have one box (with Dutch text and Dutch manual) to give away, I thought that there were two options.

Dragon, Naturally Speaking 1

The first option is: The winner gets the box. Number two gets the headphone, number three the manual, number four CD 1, number 5 CD 2, number 6 CD 3 and number 7 gets the plastic wrapping. But I’d feel quite screwed myself if I was ‘lucky’ number 7, so that leads me to option 2:

He (or she) from the Belgian or Dutch speaking hemisphere who sends me the best link to a campaign with agency credits from the Belgian or Dutch advertising world in the next 7 business days gets the full package delivered at his/her home (or office).

So: you have until Wednesday the 14th of March to send in your stuff. There’s a ‘Mail Coolz0r’ link in the sidebar. Use it wisely. :)

According to the Nuance website, the product value is € 199. Let the contest begin! Submissions will be judged by an innocent bystander who has nothing to do with this blog at all.

Dragon, Naturally Speaking 2

As for the blog event: a BIG thank you to the bloggers behind BVLG, Yet Another Blog, WebPalet and Askatasuna. I had a good time, and you guys did a good job!

The Vista version of Dragon 9 is already available for the English version, and will be made available for all other language versions during the course of the month.

Anyone with Dragon 9 – that means all you people who were present at the Blogmeet in Leuven on the 3rd of March – can then get a free download of the Vista version on the Nuance site ( http://www.nuance.co.ukhttp://netherlands.nuance.com ).

I will put a post on the Nuance Dragon Blog as soon the Dutch Vista version comes out: check http://blogs.nuance.com
