A Skin Cell Like No Other

18 Dec 2006

ImmediateFuture, the buzz breeders behind the Bravia spot with all the paint, sent out a new blog release (like a press release for blogs) for a new project they’re working on for Sanex. This time it’s all about skin cells. As dull as it might seem, the project looks a lot like one of the art works by Spencer Tunick, which means it includes a lot of naked bodies. Obviously you won’t see much, but that’s not the point (at least not for me). The new pan-European advert, which will not be seen on TV until the New Year, will be a big departure from traditional skincare ads. The first details on the campaign have just been uploaded to www.sanexskin.com, and include the first images of curled bodies as skin cells. These bodies will be unfurling and coming to life in the coming weeks – visually enacting human skin’s mesmerising natural processes. I’m not suuuper excited about this, but I do want to see where this is heading to, and I’d love to see the end result. Just because it’s apparently nothing like the standard pre-chewed ‘I use this product, see how beautiful I am’ crap we’ve been flooded with for the past decades. From the looks of the gallery, it seems like Sanex is ‘cartoonizing’ the entire project. Personally, I think that’s a pity, but we’ll see where it goes.
