Girl Power That Could Have Been

12 Oct 2006

Also on the Golden Drum list, as winners in the Gold category: these ads for Nestlé. The copy is hilarious and covers a sad truth: “if only women spent less time cooking”. This implicates they would’ve had time to do important things that now turned out to be done by men if they wouldn’t have to spend so much time cooking. And so, if they had used the instant products of Nestlé, they would’ve had the time to play the leading role in many events. Partly it is true, women do spend a lot of time cooking, and yes, they need more appreciation for that. However, instant food will cause men to revolt against the lousy quality of the food and the average taste, because let’s be honest: there’s nothing like a good old-fashioned home-cooked meal and the flavor of such a meal requires a few hours of quality kitchen time. For the good of all man-kind (pun intended) let’s not put all men at the oven because I can tell you this: besides accomplishing things on a professional level, women would spend hours and hours at the gym, working off the extra kilos all the take-away food brings with it. And we don’t want that to happen, or do we?

Nice prints. Wonder why I haven’t seen them in the newspapers….maybe because I am not the target.

    Maybe because these are ghosts?

Carioca did again a very nice job, winning for McCann @ Portoroz Agency of the Year with these ads.
