Agency Self-Promo

04 Oct 2006

In the latest edition of Inside Internet, a leading Belgian magazine with 40.000 readers every month, i-merge got some space to advertise. Inside Internet calls itself ‘the most important’ business magazine for internet professionals and analyses the Belgian and international net-economy through articles, case studies and interviews. Inside Internet has been around from even before I set foot on the internet and when I started working at World Online, back in 2000, I first saw a copy of it. Since then I’ve been reading it every month. It’s through that magazine that I had to find out what my boss at that time was up to and why the company went bankrupt. (World Online was later bought by Tiscali, another ISP where I continued working for another six months.) Inside Internet is a pre-bubble icon, that’s for sure. However, with 40.000 readers and a monthly edition, they still don’t have their own site. Instead they’re on the ComputerWorld site, hidden in a dark place, three clicks deep. Inside celebrated its 10th anniversary and i-merge decided to congratulate them in a ‘tongue-in-cheeky’ kind of way. That’s why ‘we’ came up with this ad, which gently points Inside to their absence on the web and at the same time promotes the fact that corporate blogs is one of the many things i-merge masters.
