AIDS Prevention

10 Aug 2006

There’s not much to be said that hasn’t been said already when it comes to prevention against STDs. If you haven’t been tested and you’re not sure of your partner, you better play safe and stop thinking you’ll be lucky all the time. Plate-Forme Prévention SIDA, a platform for AIDS prevention, asked Belgian agency Euro RSCG Life to create some nice visuals for their latest campaign, which they did. Notice the four-leaf clover, symbol of luck. Subtle, strong and quite artistic.

PFPS 1

PFPS 2

PFPS 3

Copy: “Ne comptez pas sur la chance. Protégez-vous.”
Translated: “Don’t count on luck. Protect yourself.”

Also part of this campaign is this scratch ticket, where the winners are in fact the lucky losers:

PFPS 4

Copy: “MSTO – Maladies Sexuellement Transmissibles / Grand tirage de l’été / Jusqu’à 40.000 mst à gagner”
Translated: “STDO – Sexual Transferable Diseases / Big Summer Draw / Up to 40.000 STDs to win”

(the ‘O’ is to make if more cheeri-o, I think)

After scratching: “Ouf! Perdu!” translated: “Pfwiew! Lost!”

On the backside of the ticket:
“La prochaine fois, ne comptez pas sur la chance. Mettez un préservatif.”
Translated: “Next time, don’t count on luck. Use a contraceptive.”

There’s also a TV spot (and I believe a radio one), with clovers and horse-shoes singing about luck …

But I find thses printed one much better and classy …
