Propaganda

I’m not a photographic talent like Michel (Flickr) or Pietel (Flickr). For every 5 good pictures I take I have to delete at least 20 others. I don’t have all the equipment to shoot pictures that are worth awards, but I do love good photography. I stumbled upon the site from Eolo Perfido, and I’ve found some damn good pictures there which I thought were worth sharing. I’ll tell you why: If I say ‘America’, and you’re not American, what do you think of? You think of fat people and fastfood (although not everyone’s fat in the US of A), you think of the typical beggers that roam the streets with shopping carts, of teen cheerleaders, immigrants, social disorder… because those are the images that stay with you after all those years of Hollywood brainwashing and dramatic Fox news. Surely, America is better and greater than that. I know quite a few citizens who are a joy to talk to, who have a different life than what you see on the big screen and have loads of things to offer. But if you look at all the clichés, the image you have from the nation itself isn’t all that polished and bright. Eolo Perfido has a morbid way to picture it, and it reminds me of scenes from Se7en and Saw (especially with those dirty walls). The setting is amazingly dark and depressing, especially for this series of ‘Propaganda’ pictures. You should check out the rest of his portfolio because it’s so worth it.
