The Light Of Life Foundation (unfortunately abbreviated as LOL) was established in 1997 by Joan Shey and is a foundation for Thyroid Cancer (which is not LOL at all). The foundation is committed to support, education and awareness for Thyroid Cancer patients. Joan Shey is a former patient herself and has teamed up with the nation’s top Thyroid specialists at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in her efforts to raise awareness an help patients with Thyroid Cancer.
