TinyPic Video Player Test

02 May 2006

3 Minutes. That’s all it takes to upload a 3.42Mb clip and get a code which then shows you a player like the one below. I think TinyPic will be my new content hosting service for video material. Of course, I won’t be creating an archive anymore, but it’s a small price to pay for a great service like this. The only disadvantage (but it’s only how you see this) is that they moderate the clips. This means the movie is already available at their site, but remote broadcast seems to be only possible after approval.

Well, I’m not quite sure. It works in Firefox, but in IE it doesn’t always seem to load. It could be a local thing though, I’ll test it with some more clips and I’ll try some other services as well. I’ll go for VidiLife.com, and then for DailyMotion. TinyPic is fine if you want to add a link to a page, that’s available as soon as you upload, but I need a player that loads fast here, on the blog. I continue my quest for a YouTube alternative. Stay tuned.

Upload your own clips to TinyPic Video.
