Cool Marketing Thoughts

I just got home from the BlogCom 2006 blog dinner in Antwerp. A lot of people showed up and yet again a lot of friendly faces. I think it was pretty crowded with around 50 participants. I had a nice talk with a lot of bloggers and finally was able to put some faces on the blogs I read. I met the guy behind Marketing Interactive, a Belgian Marketing blog that really kicks ass. He’s fast. Really really fast. I still don’t get it how he’s on top of the inside knowledge of all the Belgian agencies, but he always knows the stuff, even before it’s posted on the company blogs. Wicked.

During the actual dinner, I sat next to Peter from These Days, which was fun because it’s been a while since we last saw each other. We talk digitally, but it’s not the same. On my other side was Kris Dries, the guy who sold his sister’s pores on eBay to finance her birthday party. On the other side of the table was Eug from podcasting.be and next to him were Dieter from asfaltkonijn and Smetty CK.

The time was too short to actually talk to everybody, also because I had to go home early and couldn’t stay that long. I’ve had a quick talk every here and there, most of them were on my way out when I was saying goodbye, unfortunately. I’ve got to add some more blogs to my reader. I met some interesting people, be it in a very brief moment, and had a great time. Thanks to Jeroen for putting this together. Next time I’ll stay longer to chat more… Here’s some linklove to all the folks that were there.
