GM goes for consumer input with the all new 2007 Chevy Tahoe. Now, youââ,¬â”¢re the director and itââ,¬â”¢s your job to communicate the message by creating the best Tahoe online commercial for your chance to win. The new Chevy is capable, resposible and refined. Each of those buzzwords has a selection of clips to represent it and you can drag-and-drop these clips into the editing timeline. To finish it off, you can choose from 8 soundtracks for a colorful musical atmosphere. Give it a go, and if you’re from the US or Canada, maybe you’ll be the winner…

Chevy has teamed with The Apprentice and launched a consumer-generated advertising contest for the 2007 Chevy Tahoe, heavily featured in the episode. Rather than asking people to simply submit hack videos, Chevy has set up a site where people can click and drag commercial components together to create a canned spot.

Well, this weekend the story began to spread that the campaign is backfiring a little. This is something that could have been expected, no doubt. Some anti-SUV people and some ‘Save the Earth’ people started to ‘abuse’ the channel Chevy openend up for the creative fans and produced messages that were directly aimed against Chevy and SUV users.
