There’s a site that has some nice images online that illustrate the evolution (or some evolution) of the Russian advertisement industry, which has mostly been organized by the communist government. Nostalgic stuff, for nostalgic surfers. Click here to go there.

I’ve actually always rather liked the old communist Russian propaganda art. Brave determined and cheerful faces looking optimistically upwards into a better future. There are a lot of lovely smiles in the posters on that page you linked to, pleasant to go through. I take it you don’t actually read any more Russian than I do – ie: not a word?

Hey professor ! Thanks for the comment ! I understand no Russian at all, but I very much liked the timeline with the designs. Very inspirational. Glad you liked them too !
