Cool Marketing Thoughts

Yesterday I went to Microsoft to have a personal introduction about the live.com environment. Tom and I met with Kris Hoet from the MSN team, who’s just one helluva crazy devoted geek. Really. This guy knows what he’s doing (which is probably why he works there). I was impressed by a lot of things, and it started with the funky visitor badge that was instantly printed for us on a credit-card-alike nametag.

Then in the main entrance hall there was an XBox made of chocolate. I know the entire world is kicking over the control panel someone brought to a party, but I can tell you, you’ve never seen this before. Too bad I didn’t bring a camera. I’ll ask Kris to send me a pic to blog it. It looks so delicious.

Kris told us a lot of things about the upcoming stuff on live.com, about what the future of messenger will be… about how 2.0 the ‘new’ Microsoft is going to be… and I must say I’ve just got to try it all. I can hardly wait to get to it. He also pointed to some really nice features and tools I’m going to check out and blog about. It’s effing awesome. Microsoft is ’so’ there. You can say all you want, but if you haven’t seen it yet, you just fasten that seatbelt and wait a bit. The ride will be wicked, fast and you’ll be taking your one unique identity all over the place just to find yourself more amazed every time you check in for a new feature.

I’ll tell you this, I’ve never been more into Microsoft than these last few days. I never liked it that much either. This is it. I think I’ve found the cross-application-platform I was looking for. Impressive from the first bit to the last byte.
