R|MAIL – RSS Feeds Via SMTP

05 May 2005

It’s a service for subscribing to any RSS feed via SMTP.[...]to prevent it being used for SPAM, there’s a confirmation email sent before you start receiving the items via email. Second, the emails are sent every hour, on the hour, at most one email per hour. So, if you blog six times in an hour or edit a blog entry a dozen times, then you can be certain your reader isn’t going to get 821 bombed. As quoted from ‘Aaron Engelhart’s Blog‘.

[ What is 821 ? ]

According to Randy Charles Morin, the Beta is now running, though it’s still very basic with very few time spent on the design. Feedback is very much appreciated so feel free to drop a note on
the forum or send your remarks through the site linked below.

It’s pretty cool to have your feeds delivered in your mailbox, and it makes a lot of sense too. Good thing they immediately thought about some spam prevention. It’s a very nifty job. Really. Congrats !

You can also include it on an HTML page with JavaScript by using
a few lines of code. If you enter your e-mail address, you can subscribe to a blog and you’ll receive the latest topics right in your inbox, as fresh as they’re posted ! Base URL to subscribe to the service of R-Mail.
