The Hug Shirt is a Bluetooth accessory for Java enabled mobile phones. Hug shirts don’t have any assigned phone number, all the data goes from the sensors Bluetooth to your mobile phone and your mobile phone delivers the hug data to your friend’s phone and it is seamlessly transmitted Bluetooth to his or her shirt!
Sending hugs is as easy as sending an SMS and you will be able to send hugs while you are on the move, in the same way and to the same places you are able to make phone calls (Rome to Tokyo, New York to Paris).
The system is very simple: a Hug Shirt (Bluetooth with sensors and actuators), a Bluetooth java enabled mobile phone with the Hug Me java software running (it understands what the sensors are communicating), and on the other side another phone and another shirt. If you do not have a Hug Shirt but know that your friend has one you can still send them a hug creating it with the HugMe software and it will be delivered to your friend’s Hug Shirt!
The Hug Shirt is not meant to replace human contact, but to make you happy if you are away for business or other reasons and you miss your friends and loved ones! It also has some very interesting applications in the medical field with the elderly and children. And is fun to use and very soft!

This is one of the weirdest puzzles I’ve ever seen, but it makes sense. I think (even if it’s a fake) that it might actually even work. I can see myself buying this as a birthday/x-mas gift for a few relatives. Would also make a great business gift at the end of the year though :) I think the concept is quite cool. Very often you don’t sell something because it’s broken. But what if something broken would actually become your unique selling proposition exactly because it’s broken. That changes a lot, and because it’s so uncommon, it might easily become a success. There’s tons of cool things you can do with this for direct marketing purposes.

Ah! It looks like the marketing manager has started whipping around and finally kicked off the Zune campaign for real. Sure, there’s been ads and banners around on the net, but now it’s been taken to the next level. At last, fellow waiters, the long wait is almost over. Zune is T minus 8 days and counting ! Go check out the Zune-Arts site, there’s some really cool clips you just got to see.
Over at the main Zune site, there’s 6 commercials posted at this time, all weird and funky, the Zune way. I’ve been looking at the auction for the customized Zunes too, but I think I’ll just wait for a regular one and customize it myself, even though the Stüssy Zune looks tempting and pretty neat.
I know there was a reason why my inner self told me not to go for ye olde iPod. And I think this is the reason. :) Looking at the specs, the shape, the design… boy-oh boy. Pleasure overload. I can’t wait to buy one of these.
Things that make me horny:

Belinka is a holding which produces (amongst many other things) decoration products and coatings that provide preventive wood protection chemically against wood pests and the effects of the weather. Belinka makes your wooden surfaces everlasting beautiful and soothingly warm. To illustrate this, the Futura DDB agency came up with a promotional gadget in the form of an everlasting calendar in wood. Really attractive and handy. So handy that I’d write an email an ask Belinka to send me one. It’s delivered in a stylishly cool wrapping and it fits right into almost any design environment. This marketing concept was good for Bronze at the Golden Drum Awards. If it were up to me, they’d have received Gold for it. Simple, effective and beautiful.

Funky Belgian clothing store Dastoff had their new bag for the winter season 2006 designed by Gorrit, who got his inspiration at the Antwerp Laundry Day and his own washing machine. Cool bag. Nice concept. Looks like you’ll be getting home from the store with your clothes freshly washed. Now to find another bag that looks like a dryer and then you can do the laundry on the bus, shifting clothes from one bag to another. :)
Thanks, Michael

It’s funny how a brand can expand to different types of markets. I’m always surprized about the many things that show up in the market. These two thingies which I found On SwissMiss will fit great in the kitchen of my future place. It’s the little gadgets that make it awesome :) Truly, you got to love this. Adorably cute.

Okay, it doesn’t have the same nifty flaps as the phone in the iTalk clip I posted earlier, but you’ve got to admit: this cell is a beauty made in designer heaven. I’d love to own one of these… too bad concept phones are rarely put into production. This phone has no keypads, no buttons, just a big smooth touch screen. Seeing the picture it looks like the has no fixed interface. It changes as you select the options. If it has video playback functions, this phone is a killer!

Check out the Tickle Me Elmo TMX demo and tell me your heart doesn’t fill with desire when this ROTFL (rolling on the floor laughing) puppet comes your way. I want one of these, seriously! I’m going to order it this weekend, as soon as I’ve found out where to buy it online. This little red devil is going to become my mascotte! I’ve already made some space on the desk :)
