Senses

07 Mar 2007

One of the most dangerous things an employee can do is to actively seek for another job during daytime. Network monitoring nowadays no longer triggers red lights and alarm bells at the CEO’s office, but still, you better not get caught searching for a new employer whilst you are still on your current employer’s payroll. Headhunters don’t have an easy life either. No boss loves to see them coming, unless they’re about to be consulted for ‘own use’. Belgian agency SNOW (LG&F) came up with a fine approach to get the message from the headhunters out and to contact employees in a previously unseen way, which actually is damn clever. See the clip below to find out:

Step by step translation of the subtitles:

“Read the subtitles carefully”
“Your boss and your colleagues think you’re just watching a clip”
“Very innocent, but it’s not.”
“This clip is a cover”
“to ask you discretely if you’re still satisfied with your current job”
“Because maybe you have the feeling”
“that you’re not quite at the right place”
“that you want to make more out of your job”
“So, do you feel like you need a new challenge?”
“Then surf to Senses.be
“Senses.be – headhunting for communication professionals”
“Ah, the spot has almost ended”
“Smile while you knod your head”
“And mumble something like:”
“Such a prehistoric product-based approach!”

    Hi,

Original idea and nice realisation. But… I have a serious doubt about the efficiency. Imagine that you work in an open space, with 3 or 4 colleagues around you. You launch the film and everybody around you (and maybe your boss just passing by…) hears the chinese/japanese voice and music. What will your colleagues/boss do ? The will come to you to see what you are looking at. And you are trapped… ;-)

[...] First there’s this little viral video. This Chinese clip is a cover, for the real story… which you can read in the subtitles. It’s basically so your boss thinks you’re just watching a funny clip on the internet, but in the meantime you’re getting information on where to go when you’re ready for a new challenge (full translation at Coolz0r’s).
