You know, I don't have any idea of advertising (besides being a very experienced consumer...), but I have the feeling that this campaign will backfire.

I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for the solution of this riddle, so to speak. Will it be a new cellphone? A rock magazine? Whatever it is, it must be something really COOL!

And now it's -- an OPEL?

Well, in Germany, the Opel is the epitome of the booooring car. It's the kind of car that the proverbial elderly man with the hat drives.

If you make an uber-cool and hip campaign for something so utterly *not* cool, don't you run the risk of your young, hip target group laughing in your face?

I got the mail from Opel, as a concerned sponsor of the proms, so it seems it comes from that direction.
They made an online magazine on http://www.opel.be/magazine, with the TV commercials showing the c.m.o.n.s. AND the Opel Corsa. Nice idea for a campaign though, not yr average car commercial.

[...] Dat iedereen zich afvraagt wat hier nu precies aan de hand is blijkt onder andere uit het forum van de Proms-website. Maar ook externe bloggers zitten niet stil. [...]
