I’m quite confused about this campaign. I don’t really know what they’re trying to say. Is it the beer that makes you this fat? It’s a non-alcoholic beer called Nova Schin, that’s for sure. It comes in a bottle or in a can, that’s pretty clear as well. The rest of the message is kind of lost in the information stream, I think. Is it a brand of beer that targets pregnant women? Is it ok to drink the non-alcoholic beer when you’re pregnant? Or is the lady expecting ‘little beers’? Hmm.

Its an ad for a non alcoholic beer. The hot chicks are pregnant, so they drink non alcoholic. Its relevant because it refers to one of the purposes for non alcoholic beer, beside use by alcoholics, which you probably wouldnt make an ad about.

I don’t get why pregnant women are supposed to be hot now. I’m not the father of any of these children yet I keep having to see their over weight moms,,,I don’t get it. I work in advertisemnet. The oint is that They have no alcohol meaning that a pregnant woman can drink it. Women who are pregnant aren’t supposed to drink so I guess that means that the add would speak for itself… to any one with an ounce of intelligence.

As a mother of an adopted child who has fetal alcohol syndrome this is a really bad adv. First, non alcoholic beer still contains alcohol; second, just as the other reads said, what is the message? This could really get misinterpreted. FAS is a serious, totally preventable disorder affecting kids/adults for life. Recent stats show 1 in 100 have some form of FASD. My kid is so frustrated with limited memory and not being able to follow along in school. Fortunately she is a good kid and we don’t have the behavior problems that some of these kids get into. Bottom line bad ad.

This advertisement takes an otherwise obvious point and creates an abstract advertising campaign from it. Simply, it’s bad advertising.
Also, this “Mama Bear” person also has completely missed the point. The point of this forum was to question the vision of this advertisement and she appears with this medical lecture.
I feel this needed to be said…..

I think it makes pretty good sense. Maybe I am just smart. Just because your pregnant doesn’t all of a sudden mean that you are not goodlooking anymore. Anyone that says otherwise I would like to see a picture of you, period. I am sure you are not that hot now.

if it’s about non alcoholic beer so a preety girl won’t have a beer belly. they didn’t make the belly right, they just look pregnant, so it’s confusing. and the fact that they are holding their belly it makes it look like their just pregnant.

This ad is for pregnant woman with cravings. So it’s better to drink a non alcoholic beer, than a regular beer.
I don’t see anything wrong with the ad.

I love this! I think pregnant women are beautiful. Just beccause a beautiful women gets pregnant does not mean that she needs to cover herself up and lock herself up. I think that you people are living in the old days, in this day and age pregnancy in women of this age is sought as beautiful. But maybe the only reason i see it like this is because I am open minded and I do have a brain!!

Is it really that difficult to tell if a woman is pregnant or not? There is a huge difference in the shape and weight distribution of a pregnant woman compared to an overweight woman. The lady in the ad has thin arms and thin legs… In fact, the only thing big on her is her belly. In an overweight woman with a belly that size, she would have flabby arms and pretty thick thighs. At the very least, she would have issues with cellulite. Not to mention her belly is toned and doesn’t just flabbily hang there. It’s tight and pretty solid looking. *So guess what…* That means she’s pregnant!
The ad seems to be perfectly reasonable to me. Some people drink beer for the taste, not for the alcohol. For women who normally drink the beer with the alcohol, this seems to be a good alternative once you’re pregnant. I myself am female and I frankly prefer the taste of beer and could really care less about the alcohol. I normally drink the kind with alcohol, but if I get pregnant this seems to be a nice alternative. The ad makes perfect sense to me, and there is no hidden message lost in translation. In fact, its as straight forward as they come.
Not to mention… This should NOT confuse pregnant women into thinking that alcohol is okay for you to drink if you’re pregnant. In fact, for any logical person, it should do just the opposite. Oh gee, I’m pregnant… Maybe I should drink the NON-ALCOHOLIC beer instead! *smacks forehead* If any female mistakes this advertisement for meaning that its okay to drink she probably isn’t old enough to be getting pregnant in the first place.
Not to mention, these women are beautiful. They’re not “overweight.” In fact, their weight is perfectly normal for the condition their body is in. In fact, the women in these ads are as damn near perfect as a pregnant woman’s body could be. Weight wise, they’re doing just fine thank you. They’re beautiful, and its a very straight forward and make-sense kind of ad.
