Breaks are great. Seriously. As you might have seen, there hasn’t been much activity this last weekend. That’s because the weather was so great and I had tons of things to do. See, my nice, cute and adorable girlfriend aced her first year of law, which called for some celebrating and on top of that, we had our first anniversary.
First anniversaries are not the best time to be sitting behind your computer all day long, so I tried to have a computer-less weekend. And I think I did great, if I can say so myself.
Yesterday evening it was the final match in the battle for gold of the world cup. I sat on the couch with my dad, cheering for France because the lousy Italians didn’t deserve to win. The wussies fell like mayflies and tried to be as annoying as possible, which in the end lead to Zidane giving a small, tiny bump to the Italian player who used both hands to grope Zidane’s tits as if he was in bed with his girlfriend or something. I bet Zidane totally lost it because some provocative words after that ‘interaction’, which made him turn right back and defend his manhood with a gentle knot in the sissy-Italian’s direction.
The ref didn’t see anything, but because Buffo, Italy’s goalie, started to influence the sideline ref, the friendly interaction resulted into a red card for Zidane; minutes after the cozy get-together. How childish of Buffo to go tell on Zidane. Anyways, since the three best players of Les Bleus were eliminated, if not by force of nature then by force of referee, you could tell it was going to result in penalties.
France should have won, but they didn’t. Italy shouldn’t have won, but they did. And I was getting sleepy because I slept too much this weekend (yeah you read it right) and didn’t work enough to actually have the ‘work-drive’ I usually have. But that’s not going to happen this week. I’ve really got to finish some projects like Randy’s book, Ivan’s design and two other sites that have been in the cue for way too long already. Tonight I’ll try do to it all.

What a biased comment … what Zizou showed on the pitch yesterday went from heaven to hell: from a Panenka penalty to a Red Bull attack on Materazzi.
Unbelievable, what had gotten into him, whatever Materazzi did or said, you can’t react like that. All the world, kids who start to play foot included, were watching this summum of the tournament. Scandal!
Buffon was right to go tell on him, imagine he kicks the winning penalty for France …
Italy did not play well yesterday, but over the whole tournament they deserved this title. France as well, that’s why they were both in final. Luckiest team won I guess …

I agree that I under-exaggerated Zidane’s action, slightly. ;)
