How did they “fall out of copyright”?
The night of the living dead is my fave. I have it on DVD. And on video. And on my computer! christ, I watch too many zombie movies – and that one far too often.
The Dawn of the dead is classic too. The remakes homage to the original at the end (where everone dies as they make it to the supposed “safe” island) was great. If you didn’t know it, at the end of the 1970’s Dawn of the dead, the woman makes a run for the helicopter and the guys fend of zombies as she starts the chopper. When she sees the hero gets bitten, she decides to end it all and sticks her head up, into the choppers rotating blades and decapitates herself. At least that’s the end that SHOULD have been but the studio said “change it” as it was far too depressing.

Well, it says so on the Google Video page, so I took it for granted and went ahead. Could be they are too old already and are no longer protected under the copyright law. I have no clue. But they’re online, downloadable and fucking great. :) That’s enough for me to link to them :)
