These two ads from Ogilvy for The World of Comedy Film Festival are really funny. The first one is titled: “clowns to the rescue”, the second one is “electric whoopie”. The idea on itself is quite funny, although both situations pictured are in fact not funny at all. But then again, (stand-up) comedy very often jokes about the ‘forbidden’ parts of life like suicide, the pope and so on. There’s a fine border between good taste and bad taste, and I think Ogilvy aimed right on the middle of that line with these two examples. I like’m a lot.
