These walking billboards come from Japan. Where else would some company hire two wackos and dress them up with TFT (or LCD) screens on their heads to let them parade around in town? Japan is the place to be to pull advertising like this. We don’t even have regular sandwich men here in Belgium. At least, I can’t recall having seen a real one ever before except for the lunatic with his cardboard messages who says Jesus will save me and abortion is wrong. I saw that crazy guy a few times when I was in Antwerp, walking over the Meir – about the busiest shopping street in town there. No, really. I’ve never seen this before. For now, it’s truly ‘Only in Japan’.

Last year I bumped into a guy in Brussels wearing a vintage mac computer on his head and with a book in his hand. I was driving so I grabbed my mobile and took a shot of him. This was so strange because there wasn’t any demonstration at that time and he was just walking as if it was normal…I loved that moment, it was so…belgian!
